If yes, Alcoa Corporation is seeking a Manager, Financial Accounting to join the Corporate Finance team based at the Alcoa Corporate Center in Pittsburgh, PA.

This is an exciting and challenging role with a focus in external reporting at the center of Alcoa’s in-house expertise on technical accounting. The team consists of highly qualified CPAs and finance specialists with extensive experience in financial accounting and business matters. There is considerable ongoing interaction with a wide group of partners across the company. This position allows the candidate to continue to build technical skills and to leverage and develop their project management abilities in a collaborative and dynamic team environment. The role offers a variety with learning opportunities in both business and technical accounting matters. This professional plays a key role in financial filings with the SEC, as well as technical accounting transactions including divestitures, investments, debt, and leasing. The person works closely with the operations and regional finance teams to understand and build disclosures for the Company’s segment and consolidated results. This role requires a results-oriented, problem solver, with outstanding communication skills who demonstrate the highest level of integrity and trust.

Major activities of this position include:

Help in the preparation of the quarterly earnings release package and 10-Q / 10-K filings with the SEC.
Provide technical accounting support to operations and regional teams; develop, implement, and supervise associated accounting procedures.
Assist in the monthly closing process and preparation of consolidated financial statements.
Provide accounting support for transactions, including divestitures and acquisitions, by reviewing financial information and identifying financial impact of transaction terms, pricing, and legal commitments.
Collaborate with Investor Relations and Communications in preparing investor presentations and press releases.
Analyze monthly financial results and summarizing findings for senior management.
Gain technical expertise by staying up-to-date on new accounting pronouncements; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
Participate in ongoing compliance initiatives related to maintenance of Alcoa’s strong internal control environment.
Assist in managing the relationship with external auditors and the activities related to quarterly reviews and annual audit.
Perform analyses and special projects as requested by the Company’s senior financial management team.
Some travel may be required.

About you:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
CPA certification required
Minimun 3 years of experience in public accounting
Minimum 3 years of experience in a US GAAP policy group of a publicly traded manufacturing company
Detailed knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting policies
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
High degree of intellectual curiosity
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organization, analytical and decision-making skills
Hardworking in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree
Manufacturing experience with a concentration in inventory reporting
Experience with enterprise performance management systems
Solid understanding of Oracle or equivalent ERP system
