Zillow seeks to give customers certainty and control when buying and selling their home. With the Zillow Offers experience, Zillow buys homes directly from interested homeowners, thereby sparing them the tremendous stress and effort of selling. Instead, we take that upon ourselves by quickly preparing these homes for the market and reselling them. This is a key initiative at “Zillow 2.0” as we seek to reinvent real estate transactions.

We are building a technology platform that enables a fast, seamless and transparent real estate transaction for these buyers and sellers. The platform will harness the power of title, escrow and mortgage professionals, market experts, real estate agents, and more to deliver a magical experience to sellers and buyers.

About the role

We are looking for an engineer to help us build the next generation of transactional real estate infrastructure in the cloud. In this role you will be designing and developing systems that power our end-to-end consumer purchase and sale experience.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

Who you are

We believe technology can be learned, but if you already have the following chops we would absolutely love to talk to you:

(4+ years of experience)
Experience in Java, Spring Boot
Experience with AWS services like Aurora, Dynamo, SQS, Lambda
Experience with and understanding of best practices when it comes to what constitutes a production ready microservice
Experience with REST, and GraphQL
Experience with architecture and performance optimization of production systems
Experience leading a project from design through release
Experience with infrastructure and deployments using AWS and Docker/Kubernetes
Experience in event driven architecture and pub/sub
Nice to have, experience working with frontend technologies like React and NodeJS
