Job Description Summary

The Infrastructure Engineer is a point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization's desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment (including but not limited to PC, terminals, printers and scanners) to ensure optimal performance.

Have responsibility for the evaluation of assigned service requests and support tickets.
Professionally deliver one-on-one desk-side and remote support to resolve hardware and software issues.
Manage and document all support request statuses/communications through the Service Request and ticketing systems.
Perform setup of equipment for employee use, performing OS installation and application configuration, following documented procedures and adhering to service level agreements.
Perform hardware inventory management tasks.
Install various hardware components and software on desktop computers.
Perform troubleshooting and repairs for hardware, software, and printing issues.
Perform deployment and troubleshooting of mobile devices (smartphones, tablets).
Act as team contributor and/or lead project efforts.
Interface with engineering, network, development, and operations team members.
Knowledge of Powershell, Vbscript or other scripting technologies preferred.
Experience in Application Testing, Application packaging and Application Virtualization for Windows 7 preferred.
Working knowledge of Windows Registry, Active Directory and Group Policy.

Required Education or Equivalent Experience

• Associates degree in an IT related discipline or equivalent work experience

• MCSE certification preferred

• ACMT certification preferred

Required Experience

• Three to five years of directly related experience.

Field of Experience:

Solid and current client computing/desktop services experience in mid-to-large enterprise Windows and Mac OSX environments
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to drive issues to resolution through escalation with vendors and internal teams
Working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of IT
Proficiency installing and troubleshooting desktop hardware and associated drivers
Proficiency installing and troubleshooting various software suites
Must be able to follow and create accurate documentation
Demonstrated work experience in project and task management proficiency with the ability to prioritize and execute accordingly
Must be flexible, adaptive, self-motivated, and proactive with a positive attitude

Diagnostic and analytical

Maintain detailed documentation
Knowledge and experience with Windows and Mac OSX enterprise environments
A good understanding of TCP/IP networking
Planning and organizing
Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication

Other Job Duties

Follows documented techniques and performs testing and certifications.
Assists in the preparation of reports and follow-up.
Basic knowledge of datacenter design and operations.
Basic knowledge of regulatory environment and compliance related issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

Requires practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
Requires 3- 5 years minimum prior relevant experience.
