Your role
Do you know the Consumer Protection Regulations for mortgage Originations and Servicing? Do you know how to maintain independence and objectivity?
We are looking for someone like this who can:
• develop and implement mortgage and mortgage-related Compliance policies and procedures
• effectively and independently perform on-going monitoring and testing of mortgage origination activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• conduct and ensure that compliance-related training for employees in mortgages is timely delivered and current
• report to senior management within Legal & Compliance and the business regarding compliance matters related to mortgages
• provide guidance and advice to the mortgage business on an on-going basis regarding process and practice in mortgage lending, and how changes in laws and regulations impact them
Your team
The UBS Bank USA Compliance Team is based in Salt Lake City, UT, with roles aligned with products and services in Weehawken, NJ. You will primarily have regular interaction with business and Compliance partners, senior management in the Business, and partnering with stakeholders from various business and control functions to ensure that the Bank remains in compliance with all applicable banking laws and regulations.
Your expertise
• Bachelors' degree in a related study or field
• ideally 3 + years' compliance or risk experience in the mortgage or banking industry
• strong writing and communication skills
• understanding of and ability to explain key concepts of fair lending rules
• able to deliver high quality work-product
• knowledge of testing protocols
• firm grasp of banking laws/regulations, specifically Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) laws and regulations is an advantage: Regulation X (Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation G (SAFE Act)
