• Develop test setups (including hardware design and firmware development) to evaluate Maxim ICs.
• Work with global car manufacturers on their ADAS and infotainment system design and implementations.
• Use lab equipment to characterize Maxim devices for new product development and customer support.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include:

Become a product expert in High Speed Automotive Serial Links.
Lab evaluation of new ICs to gain expert-level knowledge in device operation, including bench measurements and writing software to automate tests.
Provide quick-turn technical applications support to customers, global field teams, product definers, and designers. Educate, answer questions, develop architectures, and solve problems with customers relating to new and existing Maxim devices and evaluation kits.
Gain experience in camera and display technologies, transmission line theory, industry standard control interfaces, automotive EMI/BCI standards, and automotive functional safety.
Design, layout, build, and test application boards to test GMSL products, and develop demos to demonstrate industry-leading features for customers and trade shows.
Write application notes, user guides, articles, new product proposals, and evaluation kit manuscripts for internal and/or external publication.
Work with Business Managers and the global field team to secure new design wins by providing technical insight to engineers at key customers.
Travel (domestic and international) will be required for customer support and to meet with Maxim’s global design and field teams for trainings and lab work.

Requirements:

BSEE required, MSEE preferred with 2+ years experience, or PhD with 0 experience
Strong understanding of EE fundamentals and analog/digital electronics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of PCB design and layout, and system/hardware debug experience
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional and interdepartmental teams.

Preferred Qualifications  

High speed serial links experience and knowledge of serial communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, I2S, and RGMII.
Existing experience in an applications engineering role, in analog or digital design, or in a systems engineering role.
Experience in PCB design, layout, and signal integrity/power delivery simulations.
Working knowledge of video transmission standards.
Working knowledge of automotive electronic systems, particularly ADAS and infotainment
Working knowledge of automotive safety and quality standards and EMI/EMC standards

Working knowledge of FPGA design.
