Engineers qualifying for this position will be responsible for supporting the development of Maxim’s Battery Management System (BMS) ICs and supporting major automotive Tiers/OEMs design efforts. Products include Precision Signal Chain Monitors (ADC’s and Comparators), Differential Communications Interfaces, and Embedded Microprocessor Programming, with an emphasis on ISO26262 (ASIL). This is an excellent opportunity for candidates to work with a team of engineers to help develop new products, characterize existing products, and build a full industry reference design.
Job Description/ Responsibilities
Design, build, and test hardware to verify new product performance.
Characterize, debug, and test new products and their applications in customer designs.
Design and develop new product evaluation and demo boards. Generate sales collateral such as data sheets, application notes, and customer presentations.
Provide product technical training to Sales and FAE organizations.
Interface with customers to address problems associated with bringing Maxim’s products into volume production in the customer’s product.
Minimum Job Qualifications
BSEE with 5+ years of experience in semiconductor application or testing, or electronic circuit design.
Hands on lab work ability, both as an individual and with a team, to verify the performance of a specific circuit or product.
Demonstrated experience in circuit schematic design, simulation, and PCB layout.
Strong analytical skills.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Preferred Job Qualifications
Experience in microcontroller firmware programming.
Experience in digital interfaces (SPI, I2C, and UART).
Experience in electric vehicle powertrain.
Experience in testing power or battery management products.
Working knowledge of BCI/EMI procedures, testing, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of IC failure analysis.
Knowledge of ISO26262 road vehicle functional safety.
