We are seeking a Senior Staff Systems Engineer that will lead the design, analysis, coding and development of Robotic and Computer Aided Surgery (CAS) for Shoulder Arthroplasty to deliver best-in-class robotic-assisted orthopedic solutions. Work closely with developers and engineers to develop surgical applications and to develop internal processes to enhance scalability. Will be responsible for design, documentation, integration of system features (software, robotic arm, implants, and surgical instruments) and development of infrastructure tools or processes for scalability and modularity to deliver best-in-class robotic-assisted orthopedic solutions.

What you will do-
* Create custom codes utilizing C/C++, Python, MATLAB to assess performance metrics
* Create code and develop algorithms for image processing, registration, human-robot interaction
* Derive systems targets/budgets for accuracy of Computer Aided Surgery (CAS)
* Create, maintain, and document the operation of system accuracy models for Computer Aided Surgery (CAS)
* Manage the configuration of accuracy models and document changes for Computer Aided Surgery (CAS).
* Allocate error allowances to Modules, Subsystems, and, as appropriate, Components for Computer Aided Surgery (CAS).
* Lead the design, analysis, coding and development of Robotic and Computer Aided Surgery (CAS).
* Use of risk management practices applied to medical device development.
* Creating design specifications and requirements definition.
* Developing test protocols/procedures, collecting and analyzing data, and creating detailed reports.
* Assist in developing an architecture that ensures functional safety of a complex medical device
* Manage the technical product development activities to ensure timely completion of projects.
* Design and implement complex concepts, draft design documentation, plan and conduct relevant tests under professional leadership.
* Work diligently to project schedules as determined by project leaders and be able to clearly communicate status of assignments, coordinate tasks, and shift priorities as dictated by project demands.
* Identify and plan mitigation strategies for project and technical risk.
* Articulate issues and make recommendations for improvement to program and executive management as appropriate.
* Must be able and flexible to work well under changing priorities in a high energy and demanding environment.
* Assist in developing an architecture that ensures functional safety of a complex medical device
* Manage the technical product development activities to ensure timely completion of projects.
* Design and implement complex concepts, draft design documentation, plan and conduct relevant tests under professional leadership.
* Collaborate with Lead System Engineers to develop performance requirements of CAS.
What you need-
Minimum Qualifications (required):
* Bachelors degree with 6+ years in product design experience in Robotics/Orthopedics/Medical device industry or equivalent -or- Masters of Science with 5+ years of product design experience in Robotics/Orthopedics/Medical device industry or equivalent (strongly preferred) -or- PhD degree with 2+ years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Aerospace engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experienced with implant development and human anatomy biomechanics
* Experienced in Computer Aided Design Surgery for medical applications
* Experienced in coding using C/C++, Python, MATLAB to program user facing interface
* Experienced in programming image processing and registration algorithms
* Experienced in embedded software programming of electro-mechanical devices
