TheManufacturing Operator, aligned to the Fabrication area, is responsible forperforming manufacturing processes in any combination of required tasks associated with the safe and efficient operation of the production line as it relates to producing water elements (membrane). S/he will be involved in multiple different phases of the production and will perform tasks as specified in written procedures to support the full production process; manufacturing/rolling, finishing, testing/packaging, and handling of materials.The position requiresa self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and simultaneously accomplish multiple tasks using time management. S/he must have strong attention to detail, and strong communication todemonstrate leadership 2013 inspire others and lead them through influence. S/he must also be able to able to work within an empowered team environment, and in addition to the primary tasks, the operator will need to fix or adjust the machines with hand tools as needed.
As a Manufacturing Operator, you will:
* Maintain a safe working environment and participate in all required safety programs, trainings, and activities
* Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas
* Operate and field check process equipment by monitoring process conditions, equipment, and control systems if necessary
* Reads production schedule to determine set up for manual stacking of product to be produced during the current days production run
* Responsible for working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to elements such as; odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, chemicals and other elements
* Receive direction from area leads/supervisor and complete assigned tasks
* Manual stacking of products that cannot go through the Board Stacker
* Rework bundles of finished product to remove/replace out of spec material that is mixed with prime board and return bundles to Lan Tech area.
* Remove out of spec material from production line.
* Operate off line Bemis and slitter machine for runner cutting activities that support the Lan Tech Operator.
* Creating X-bundles from off spec material.
* Coordinate with Bemis operator on product changeovers
* Responsible for adhering to strict safety and environmental guidelines to include:
* Wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - including respirator
* Working in a RESTRICTED Electrical Classified Area for use of flammable and combustible materials
* Must be able to make decisions related to safety, quality and operations with minimal amount of supervision.
* Must be able to meet light to moderate physical effort as required to include:
* Lifting occasionally of up to 50 pounds; bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting required on a daily basis
* Must be able to occasionally work at table level and/or overhead level as necessary
Qualifications
* A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required
* A minimum of 1 years2019 experience in warehouse/logistics/ manufacturing or production is required
* A minimum of 3 year2019s chemical or industrial manufacturing experience is preferred
* Ability to read, write, and speak English isrequired
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and can learn new systems quickly is preferred
* Fork Lift; power materialshandling equipment operation experience/certification is preferred
* Able to read and navigate Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) panels
* A valid state driver2019s license is required
* Strong mathematical, and written/verbal communication skills are essential
* Must be willing to adhere to all safety standards, and exhibit a strong commitment to safety for themselves and for others
* Good interpersonal skills are required
* While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to stand;stand and/or walk for up to8or 12hours per day,walk (up and down stairs); twist; bend; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb for extended periods of time; and will require the ability to lift maneuver and carry up to 45 lbs, pull with up to 82 lbs force and push with up to 50 lbs force is required
* Able towear Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) such as gloves (nitrile), face shield, safety glasses, shield, ear plugs, safety shoes, Tyvek sleeve, plastic apron, and respirator for the working shift.
* This position operates 3rd& 5thshifts ONLY; these are OVERNIGHT positions
* This role is located in Edina, MN and may require less than 5% of travel
