Position Summary:
The Certified Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing pulmonary care services in accordance with specific physicians orders, department policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:

* Perform therapeutic, diagnostic and supportive respiratory care procedures
* Provide services, timely and efficiently, at appropriate levels to all patients and in all settings served by the department
* Evaluate physician orders and clinical data related to respiratory care of patients
* Assess patients respiratory status, effectiveness of therapy, and recommend modifications as needed
* Perform tasks and duties within their approved scope of service, following established policies and procedures, and in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations/laws

Qualifications

* Current Florida License as Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
* Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
* Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (CRT credential)
* Minimum of two years post-graduate clinical experience in Respiratory Care is preferred
* Two years experience preferred, with at least 1 year of Critical Care experience, CVICU preferred
* Must be proficient in the treatment of, and knowledge of all types of respiratory disorders, and must be able to utilize various types of media for therapy (mechanical ventilation, nebulizers, CPT, etc.)
