Job Summary:

The Walt Disney Company's Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) is a new, global business segment for The Walt Disney Company with the mission of providing consumers around the world access to the content they want most, on the latest platforms, at a time of rapidly-evolving consumer habits. Responsibilities:

The Business Intelligence Engineer on the Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution (DMED) Digital Forecasting & Analytics team will be responsible for interfacing with business customers to gather requirements and develop reporting and analytic solutions for business insights. This process includes the ingestion and understanding of data, to designing, developing, and improving the process to automate reporting and analytics, while adapting to rapidly evolving strategies and business needs. The BI Engineer position bridges the gap between the technical requirements to deliver a solution and business knowledge to be able to effectively communicate complex results/insights/trends to business stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:

* 3+ years of experience and proficiency in SQL
* Proficiency acquiring, cleansing, manipulating, and loading large amounts of data
* Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx)
* Exceptional communication skills; able to shift readily between technical and non-technical terminology depending on audience
* Demonstrated curiosity, creative problem-solving, and a willingness to learn new skills
* Proven sense of responsibility, pro-active resourcefulness, and effective project ownership

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience using cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, Hive)
* Hands-on Python for data analysis or R experience
* Experience designing and implementing predictive models (time series, generalized linear models, etc.)
* Experience with cloud infrastructure for data science/business intelligence
* Experience in financial forecasting or user analytics
* Familiarity with the media industry, ad technology, and online metrics

Required Education

* Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or other quantitative field
