As a EBU Applications Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and allocating resources for team projects, and tasks. You will work across global departments as you analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities. You will provide technical expertise and leadership to your team and customers across all segments, support customer interests within the company and provide long term technical direction. You will lead all aspects of the creation of user documentation, specifications and training, internal and external, as well as participate in JEDEC and other Standards organizations. You will also be responsible to direct and evaluate the work of your reports and their development.
Responsibilities and Tasks include the following, but not limited to:
Manage and develop the team:
* Provide multi-functional training opportunities
* Prioritization of work assignments and projects within team
* Assess additional projects and associated workload and resources
* Allocate or re-allocate resources; collaborate with peers for additional resources as needed
* Track status and deliverables of projects and assignments
* Identify headcount needs, recruit, interview and make hiring decisions
* Identify strengths and build specific development plans to improve skills
* Establish goals and conduct performance appraisals
* Provide recognition and drive accountability
Provide technical expertise and leadership:
* Represent Micron to external customers (tradeshows, conferences, etc)
* Understand external and internal customer needs and priorities
* Ensure team provides technical product information to existing or potential customers
* Evaluate and represent Microns position for legal (i.e., archive research, depositions, technical evaluation review for patent depositions)
* Work cross functionally to set product and technology direction
* Manage creation of specifications, user documentation, and training
* Collaborate with Micron global departments
* Provide internal technical training (FAE, Sales, etc.)
* Provide external customer training (key accounts, distributors, rep firms, etc)
* Evaluate and lead all aspects of PLM responsibilities
* Supervise creation and publication of technical notes and specifications
* Design, monitor and improve Micron.com website and SharePoint intranet; manage secure site access
* Design, monitor and improve Part Numbering Systems
* Manage and prioritize external deliverables (models, signal integrity analysis, board files, etc)
Participate in JEDEC and standards organizations:
* Build proposals and specifications
* Participate in task groups
* Provide training and workshops
* Collect feedback from other Micron departments and customers to determine ballot voting in the best interest of Micron
Manage customer interactions:
* Support customer analysis, design, implementation and product manufacturing, including Predesign, qualification, Failure Analysis (FA), and End Of live (EOL)
* Trigger the start of Product Change Notices (PCNs) along with writing and supporting PCNs
* Represent customers interests at technical meetings
* Support Quarterly Technical Reviews (QTR) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR)
* Provide long term technical direction
Qualifications and Skills include, but not limited to:
* 5+ years Experience in DRAM test or product engineering
* 5+ years Applications engineering experience in embedded space for DRAM
* 5+ years of Management experience.
* Bachelor of science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Physics; Master degree preferred
* Effective interpersonal skills in written and spoken English
* Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
* Ability to delegate tasks and set priorities in a team environment
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
* Strong presentation skills
* Excellent project management skills
