The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for the performance of radiological procedures as required by staff physicians under the direction of the Radiologist.

* Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the financial, personal, medical or employment status of patients/families at JPMC.
* Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.
* Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.
* Must participate in safety instructional programs.
* Correctly performs assigned diagnostic radiology procedures and follows protocol.
* Correlates the patients history and makes available to the Radiologist.
* Minimizes radiation exposure to the patient, self and others.
* Monitors equipment and reports malfunctions to Lead Radiology Technologist or Radiology Director.
* Transports the patient and ensures that the patient is protected from injuries.
* Assesses the patient and reports any change to manager and/or physician.
* Maintains order and cleanliness of work area.
* Correctly identifies and labels all images.
* Performs all necessary front desk operations.
* Demonstrates concern for patient safety, comfort and privacy by explaining all exam procedures, checking the patient ID band, double IDs patients and obtaining a patient history regarding allergies, pregnancy, and proper consent, when pertinent.
* Schedules procedures in a manner that promotes patient flow within the department.
* Takes call as assigned.
* Performs exam, monitors image quality, and delivers exams to Radiologist.
* Assists Radiology Director with department PI and Quality Control.

Job Requirements

Must be a graduate of an AMA approved radiology program with previous experience and the knowledge and ability to perform radiology procedures. Must be ARRT, Kentucky State Licensed/Certified/Registered, and CPR/BLS certified.

Required skills include; organizational, customer relations, grammar/spelling, typing, the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, the ability to follow written and oral direction, and computer training.
