At Facebook Reality Labs (FRL), our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for a Lead Fabrication Engineer with passion for technology and leadership to join our team, whose mission is to deliver beyond state-of-the-art Waveguide Technologies for consumer near to eye displays at our research and development facilities. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience leading nanofabrication projects in a clean room environment and coordinating process development engineers work. In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of process engineers and technicians. You will be empowered to translate the current technology roadmap into prototyping. More specifically you will lead the development of fabrication processes and tools to enable delivery of optical concepts and prototypes targeting display systems leveraging nanostructured optics and active optical technologies. You will receive full support from the management and leadership team to grow your technical and leadership skills.
Lead Fabrication Engineer, Integrated Waveguide Technology Responsibilities
* Collaborate closely with technical program managers and leadership team to devise and execute on the program priorities
* Direct both end-to-end integration and process modules development within the fab
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations team to ensure fab operational efficiency
* Maintain a safety-first work environment
* Participate and drive lab-safety initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
* A Masters degree in the field of Engineering, Optical Sciences, Physics, or equivalent work experience
* 1+ years of experience leading a sector within an R&D or production fab
* 2+ years of experience with standard nanofabrication technologies including lithography, etch, deposition, cleans, metrology, and materials
* Experience with optical characterization techniques
* Experience with cross functional project team collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
* PhD degree in the field of Engineering, Optical Sciences, Physics, or equivalent work experience
* 2+ years of experience in process integration in advanced node semiconductor fabrication
* 1+ years of experience in design-of-experiments, structured problem solving, and risk assessments techniques
