VMC Networking team is an exciting team with the Networking & Security Business Unit (NSBU). We are seeking an experienced software engineer to build the next generation management plane & networking functionalities for our VMC-on-AWS platform.

Job responsibilities:

- Define, implement, and support complex software modules in the VMC-on-AWS networking management plane.

- Define and implement various integrated networking functionalities for VMC-on-AWS platform.

- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle.

- Responsible for delivering design & functional specifications.

- Provide detailed scheduled estimates for development efforts.

- Help maintain technical acumen in key technology areas to help guide the evolution of our platform

Skill requirements:

- Masters degree or PhD in computer science with 5-12 years of experience developing commercial software.

- 5+ years of experience in OOD/OOP, Java and Distributed systems

- Good knowledge of Java Spring, REST APIs, Tomcat and messaging frameworks (Message queues, GRPC)

- Strong fundamentals in Concurrency, Clustering, and Multi-threaded systems.

- Good understanding of networking technologies and previous experience with L2/L3 Networking and SDN (Software Defined Networking) stack is preferred

- Working experience in using development tools and build systems such as Maven, Bazel is a plus

- Experience building highly available, scalable cloud applications, including server and database layers

- Experience participating in agile development is a plus

- Experience with development on AWS/Azure stack is a plus

- Strong passion and experience in troubleshooting, debugging complex systems and possess excellent problem-solving techniques.
