Project Engineer-High Voltage Battery Systems - This role will lead the execution of projects primarily focused on battery design for specific military and non-automotive applications and will lead these projects through on-time builds, reviews, gates, milestones and issue resolution. The Engineer will also develop systems and systems interface to high voltage electronics, battery controls, and system performance. Candidate will also lead electrification component development as needed for specific applications.

Project Engineer Stationary Energy Storage - This Engineer will lead the development of battery systems for industry and home back up power units. Act as the primary contact for GM innovation and backup power contractors. Responsible to evaluate and develop innovative product concepts and high-level designs for battery systems intended to be used in stationary energy storage systems. Lead the development of system, component, and sub-component specifications for the various elements of an energy storage systems including functional, performance, safety and compliance requirements. Collaborate with internal and external partners to evaluate product solutions to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable designs. Support delivery, supply chain, sales, marketing, and quality to launch prototypes, and commercial products and solutions. This role will develop high acumen in battery and stationary energy storage engineering standards, policies, and procedures.

Project Engineer eVTOL Battery and Module Aerial Mobility - This Engineer is responsible for the engineering and development of battery systems for eVTOL vehicles (personal flying vehicles). This Engineer will be the primary eVTOL contact to GM innovation. Lead the evaluation and development of innovative product concepts and high-level design for future battery systems. Lead the development of system, component, and sub-component specifications for the various elements of an eVTOL. Collaborate with internal and external partners to evaluate product solutions to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable designs. Support delivery, supply chain, sales, marketing, and quality to launch prototypes, and commercial products and solutions. Work with eVTOL manufactures to integrate battery systems. Candidate will develop high acumen in battery, module, and system as well as be responsible for battery FAA compliance.

Additional Job Description

Requirements:

* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering

* 2+ years of experience in the design, development, validation or release of battery components

* Strong technical battery module design experience

* Proven project management skills and the ability to influence others

* Ability to build and present information to leadership, peers, customers and suppliers in a clear and concise manner

Desired Skills:

* Masters degree in Engineering or MBA

* 5+ years of previous design & release experience (DRE)

* Hands-on experience working in high-voltage laboratory and dynamometer environment

* Experience with Bills of Design, Statement of Requirements, DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and Design Reviews

* Solid understanding of problem resolution, tracking systems and engineering change management processes

* DFSS certification

* Knowledge on high voltage battery systems design and specifications

* Knowledge of batteries and energy storage certifications and compliance standards

* Demonstrated high level of strategic agility and desire to work in a complex and evolving environment and an innovation mindset

* Team player attitude internally and externally
