JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector is a key position in our Quality department. The successful candidate will focus on validating part compliance to dimension expectations and overseeing the annual calibration of inspection tooling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor calibration status of gages and test equipment for facility; includes keeping software license up to date
Facilitate 3rd party calibration intervals
Ensure calibration standards traceability to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
Create and Issue NonConformance Material Reports (NCMRs)
Create Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs)
Create and Issue Corrective Action Reports (CARs)
Perform First Article (FAI), incoming and in-process Inspections
Assist in the disposition Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs) from customers
Assist in calibrations, evaluation of materials, and dimensional analysis
Analyze data and create reports

Complete external order requests, pick parts/attachments, confirm orders and ship orders to customers.
Complete internal order requests.
Verify accuracy of inventory counts to system.
Communicate fully with supervisors, leads and coworkers.
Maintain safe and organized work area including end of shift clean up and light maintenance in accordance with 5S standards.
Use and follow personal protective equipment program and adhere to all safety programs and policies.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to collaborate with cross functional team members
Basic organization skills
Results-driven, self-motivated individual
Experience with manufacturing and knowledge of lean principals.
Knowledge of all basic manual inspection equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Continuous standing and lifting/lowering.
Intermittent walking, use of hand/wrist, and bending/twisting.
Occasionally pushing/pulling, and crouching.
Never sitting or working at heights.
Must carry 1 to 40 pounds occasionally.
40 pounds or more lifting device available.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

HS Graduate (or GED)
1 year of experience in manufacturing preferred
Experience in a machine shop a plus
