Job Description Summary

This position is a key champion of Travelers learning culture and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for the Claim University organization comprised of a diverse and agile group responsible for designing, developing and delivering leading-edge learning solutions, operational oversight of the Claim U facility, and use of the facility as a marketing showplace for employees, customers, distribution partners, and investors. Also responsible for the development of comprehensive learning strategies across Travelers in partnership with all lines of business, which includes a high level of focus on creating distance learning and virtual training organizational capabilities, collaborating with other learning teams on learning innovation & best practices, as well as the design and delivery of classroom curriculum to meet the technical and leadership demands of our employees, vendors and partners.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

* In partnership with Claim and other senior leaders, develop comprehensive, national Claim and enterprise learning strategies, programs and curriculum for employee development and technical training, including establishment and execution of a vision for continual learning, upskilling and reskilling.
* Assess and develop short and long term planning strategies and initiatives to drive the successful operation of a world class training facility that optimizes student learning and showcases the facility for employees, customers, distribution partners and investors.
* Act in partnership with the Claim and business partners to design, develop and execute training strategies in support of business objectives.
* Stay abreast of state of the art, progressive learning and training trends to anticipate, respond to and manage opportunities including oversight of strategic learning partnerships; continually drives learnings innovation within Claim and across the enterprise.
* Understand the changing environment, including the dynamics of a diverse workforce and develop learning solutions to best prepare employees to meet the changing customer needs.
* Leverage learning and development best practices and associated technology, data and analytics to drive consistent application of training standards to achieve business outcomes.
* Responsible for direct management, leadership and guidance for Claim University personnel.
* Ensure the most cost effective and efficient design and delivery of Claim learning programs.
* Fully leverage the Claim University facility's potential as a competitive advantage for both Claim and the Enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required.
* Minimum of 8 years training experience required.
* Minimum of 5 years experience managing others required.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Adult Learning required.

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge

* 10+ years work experience preferred.
* 6+ years management experience preferred.
* 6 years Insurance Experience preferred.
* 2-4 years agile work leadership preferred.
* Training and/or facilities/operations management experience desirable.
* Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the Claim organization preferred.
* Comprehensive Property Casualty insurance knowledge and experience.
* Successful implementation and leadership of an agile work team (not necessarily a specific model; e.g., SAFE; but fluent in the mindset, values, and principles of agility.
* Experience leading Line of Business teams, as well as Functional teams
