JOB SUMMARY:
1. This position requires a working knowledge and understanding in the repair and maintenance of airframes, hydraulics,
fuel systems, electrical systems, and aircraft engines.
2. Mechanics at all levels are expected to perform work at increasing levels of skill and complexity as they gain
experience.
3. Mechanics with specific training, skill, and experience may be classified and specialized into disciplines such as:
Electrical; Systems; and/or Structural Repair/Modification.
4. Receive technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level manager, will occasionally be required to lead
teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
5. Communicate as required to receive and understand work assignments. Perform tasks completely, accurately, and in a
timely manner.
6. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for, but not limited to:
0. Performing daily flight line and hangar maintenance and repairs on assigned aircraft.
1. Performing both major and minor electrical or structural modifications.
2. Performing inspections, corrosion control procedures, trouble-shooting and fault isolation procedures on aircraft
systems.
3. Performing interior trim repairs and/or modifications.
4. Troubleshooting avionics/electronics/mission equipment.
5. Working under general guidance; disassembling, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting,
assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating and other operations required to maintain the airworthiness of aircraft and
components, while in service or while undergoing overhaul and/or modification.
6. Operating all necessary ground support equipment, portable lighting, auxiliary power carts, air conditioning, other
ventilation equipment, etc.
7. Laying out and assembling console and rack assemblies with or without the aid of templates, jigs, fixtures, etc.
8. Entering and retrieving production and other job-related data or information using computer systems.
9. Using fork lifts, trucks, small tugs, etc. to move support equipment and aircraft components as required.
10. Performing other work as assigned that is incidental to primary job duties.
11. Using blueprints, production drawings, written procedures, technical work orders as necessary to complete assigned
work.
12. Maintain clean work areas, tools, and equipment.
13. Adapt to sudden changes while maintaining productivity and standards of quality.
14. Works various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission
requirements and may include weekends and holidays. Mission requirements and/or workload may require both
scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
Qualifications:
Self-starter with a positive attitude, teachable, and the ability to effectively train others.
Possess a working knowledge of military, commercial, and general aviation aircraft.
Reliability, communications skills, workmanship, and good judgment are essential traits.
PREREQUISITES:
1. Normally requires a minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience working on aircraft, performing various tasks
as an aircraft electrician, aircraft sheet metal worker, or aircraft systems mechanic. (Possession of an FAA - Airframe &
Powerplant License substitutes for two years of hands-on experience working on aircraft)
2. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
3. Must possess a U.S. Passport if required.
As with all positions at L3 Technologies, ISR Systems this p osition requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD
security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship. Although not required, an active DoD Security clearance at the Secret
or Top Secret level is highly preferred.
