Job Duties:

* Provide powder coating, EDM, mechanical assembly, carpentry and product life-cycle support in a classified environment
* Independently powder coat, fabricate and assemble parts and applications for a wide variety of materials and sizes using blueprint drawings on powder coating and other equipment
* Skilled with mechanical fabrication/assembly and operation in a prototype/small production job shop
* Implements continuous improvements and assumes a variety of shop roles when needed
* Performs masking and operates powder coating equipment to fabricate parts. Also completes mechanical assembly, sanding, media blasting and carpentry as necessary.
* Reviews drawings and other documentation with engineering to estimate labor and materials required for job completion.
* Recommends material and tooling purchase requests in support of assigned jobs.
* Completes assigned jobs to required quality specifications and job due dates.
* Interfaces with shop lead to understand and clarify job requirements as necessary.
* Interfaces with engineering and inspection personnel to understand and coordinate the production and inspection of parts to meet required product specifications and workmanship standards.
* Performs maintenance on assigned machines
* Provides forklift and crane hoisting/rigging training and support as necessary
* Uses hand and power tools such as saws, sanders, arbor presses, manual lathes, routers, and necessary precision measuring instruments
* Maintains area to meet all 5S requirements
* Promotes and maintains a safe work environment
* Assists with tasks outside of the primary work area as required (includes Sheet Metal and CNC Machine operation)
* Follow all safety rules, report all accidents and unsafe conditions and wear all Personal Protective Equipment
* Drive quality compliance using line clearance requirements, good document practices, and workmanship standards
* Confers with engineering, quality control, programming, or share owners to resolve machining problems
* Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and should maintain these areas at the highest degree possible and report any maintenance issues
* Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with all levels of the organization

You Must Have:

* Two (2) or more years related work experience
* High School Diploma or GED
* US Citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy Q level security clearance.
