The Industrial Power Systems Division has an exciting opportunity for a Lean Engineering Project Team Lead located in Mossville, Illinois. As a Lean Engineering Project Team Lead at Caterpillar, you will be empowered to use Lean principles to drive continuous improvement and a Lean culture within the Industrial Power Systems Division. This position will be responsible for leading Lean initiatives and continuous improvement methodology throughout the IPSD Large Engines Product Engineering Teams, including Engine, Aftertreatment, Systems Integration, Mechatronics and Virtual Product Development. Communication and collaboration with other process partners across values streams is required.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Coordinate and deliver Lean training and coach improvement project teams
* Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring continuous improvement and generate, analyze and broadcast metrics
* Provide technical guidance to Process Owners and Team Leads towards developing stop capability improvements and process root cause corrective actions
* Lead defect sorting and oversight for quality and velocity defect investigation
* Coordinate governance meetings with Leadership
Basic Qualifications:
* Requires a bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum
* Minimum of 5 years of Engineering Experience
Top Candidates will also have:
* Excellent team leadership, change management and communication skills
* Experience with Engine and Aftertreatment design
* Experience with Lean deployment and application of Lean tools
* Experience with Built in Quality (BIQ) and Quality Management Systems
