The position of Research Associate I is within our Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit located at Scarborough, Maine. In this role you will execute preclinical scientific research or development in collaboration with others for projects. As a Research Associate I , you will perform basic tasks and help expand test content on the ID NOW platform by designing, screening, and optimizing novel assays as well as engaging in research activities focused on expanding the capabilities of the core technology.

WHAT YOULL DO

* Works in a multi-disciplinary team with other scientists, researchers, and technicians.

* Conducts test protocols, procedures, and product evaluations under supervision.

* Correlates work and comprehends the relation of the problem to a larger one. Provides suggestions related to assigned problem.

* Documents laboratory work.

* Performs laboratory work and follows proper safety precautions, and instructions.

* Develops protocols and writes reports with guidance.

* Keeps up to date with best practice in science and manufacturing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOULL BRING

Required

* Bachelors Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related technical field or 1 2 years of lab experience.

Preferred

* Knowledge and/or experience in product development.
