What you'll be doing...

You'll be working on a team to develop a distributed platform to deliver operational & product usage data in the Tableau cloud to sustain the highest level of customer experience. The platform sits at the core of Cloud Engineering and has very high visibility in the Tableau organization. The platform needs to be scalable, highly performant, and real-time to cater to various Tableau services.

Some of the things you'll be doing are:

* Develop & own the next generation observability platform for Tableau Online to gain real-time insights into operational & product data.

* Create and maintain a stream processing platform on Kafka & Flink to consume events, logs, metrics & change data capture.

* Process large, complex data sets that meet functional business requirements.

* Develop and automate the infrastructure to support the platform on the public cloud.

* Keep our data separated and secure across boundaries.

* Support & learn the platforms operational behavior by participating in on-call through rotation.

Who you are

* Experienced. 3+ years of experience in software engineering with 1+ years in coding and implementing data processing pipelines preferred.

* Educated: BSCS or equivale

* Highly technical. You have very strong problem solving skills and a deep understanding of distributed services for data processing and performance optimization. Youre fluent in one or more object-oriented languages and knowledgeable in SQL.

* Flexible. While its true that you know your stuff inside and out, you aren't afraid to learn new areas and stretch yourself to handle whatever need arises.

* A True Team Player. You enjoy collaborating, learning from or teaching others so we can all become better developers. People love working with you because you help them up their game.

* A Problem Solver. You have a passion for solving complex problems at work or otherwise.
