Job Description:

* The Unit Secretary, under the supervision and/or direction of a Registered Nurse, performs clerical duties on a nursing unit.
* The Unit Secretary also acts as receptionist, receives and directs visitors demonstrating courteous communication skills.
* Answers telephone and call lights, referring questions / complaints through proper channels.
* Notifies physicians of consults / admissions.
* Accurately transcribes physician orders.Keep accurate tele monitor logs.
* Exhibits flexibility in meeting department needs.
* Supports Nursing Staff, Patients, and Physicians.
* The Nurse Aide I, under the supervision and/or direction of a Registered Nurse performs routine duties in caring for hospitalized patients.
* Performs and exhibits sound judgments and technical skills for NA I in nursing treatments and procedures as assigned.
* Ensures comfort and safety of patient at all times, observing and reporting to nursing staff pertinent observations about the patient condition as appropriate.

CCU/ICU/CVICU - Fryes three intensive care units are made up of 8 beds each for a total of 24 beds. Specialized nursing staff provide care for critically ill patients and their families using a holistic, integrated team approach.

Job Requirements

* High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
* Must maintain NA I certification with the Division of Facility Services in the State of North Carolina.
* Current CPR certification with AHA.
