Job Description:
Works independentlyto perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed. Selects or adapts standard procedures orequipment, using fully applicable precedents. Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisoror engineer as needed; performs recurring work independently; work is reviewedfor technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. Constructs components, subunits, or simplemodels or adapts standard equipment. Maytroubleshoot and correct malfunctions. Follows specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and packagesimple devices and subunits of equipment. Conducts various tests or experiments which may require minormodifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments inmeasurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and recordstest data. Extracts and compiles avariety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.;processes data, identifying errors or inconsistencies; selects methods of datapresentation. Assists in designmodification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materialswhich are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts. Develops information concerning previous operationalfailures and modifications. Usesjudgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seeksources to clarify information.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
5 yrs. applicableexperience; or at least 60 credit hours or an Associates Degree and 3 yrs.applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and 4 yrs. applicable experience; orcompletion of a formal training program and 3 yrs. applicable experience; or aBachelors Degree and 1 yr. applicable experience.

UNUSUAL OR SPECIALPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION
May require sittingin front of a computer for some periods of time (up to 70%). The ability tobend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, reach above shoulder level and climbinto or under a vehicle is required (up to 50%). Walking a minimum of 50 yardsover rough terrain is required (up to 25%). The ability to push and pull aswell as lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required (up to 50%).
DESCRIPTION OF WORKENVIRONMENT
Work environment maybe inside or outside depending on the task. The ability to work in outsidefield conditions that include hot and cold extreme temperatures and otheroutdoor climatic conditions is required (up to 25%). Must be able to work in areas where onlyportable restroom facilities are available (up to 25%). Work environment may be fast-paced andrequire work under pressure to meet deadlines associated with the completion ofa task. Position will require multipletask efforts. Work may require being assigned to shift work (up to 20%)
EQUIPMENT ANDMACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASKS
Independentlyconducts test and evaluations using general equipment, Physical andNon-destructive test, computer and data acquisition equipment. Uses a varietyof standard references, guides, and precedents to obtain needed information.Work may require being around moving machinery and equipment. Work may requiredriving auto equipment, forklifts, as well as other equipment.
CRITICALITY OFATTENDANCE
Attendance iscritical at all times during normal duty hours. Work outside of normal dutyhours, including weekends and holidays, may be required with as little asone-hour advance notice.
OTHER ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
Must be able tocommunicate effectively. Must be able to obtain an interim secret security clearancein order to gain access to required areas, networks and systems within thirty(30) days of date of your offer letter. Must be able to obtain and retain a secret security clearance. Must beable to provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Must be able to obtain and retain unescorted access to work areas. Maybe required to obtain appropriate certifications including: radiography, magnetic particle, liquidpenetrate, eddy current, and ultrasonic. May be subject to hearing tests, laser eye exam, and complete bloodcount. May be subject to other physicals or exams if required to wear arespirator or are designated by the COR to have other physicals due to the workarea in which you are assigned. May besubject to exposure to noise, vibration, radiation, temperature extremes, lead,petroleum, oil, lubricants, dusts, and solvents. Must be able to wear personal protectiveequipment as required. Must have a validdrivers license and personal transportation for the purpose of moving aroundthe proving ground to accomplish job functions and in order to operate a rentalvehicle if and when travel is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain amilitary drivers license within 30 days of employment.
