AECOM is seeking a talented Senior Software Quality Assurance Tester in our Raleigh, NC office. In this position, the successful applicant will play an integral role on multiple software development teams ensuring the quality of internal and client-facing applications. Our R&D team produces a variety of applications, typically with geospatial capabilities, that run on the desktop, web, AWS, and a variety of client production systems. In addition to validating software, a critical part of this position is analyzing and improving the software development lifecycle to reduce the introduction of defects into the teams work.
* Conduct manual and automated testing on a variety of desktop, web, and mobile solutions
* Define, build, and maintain manual and automated test scenarios that validate these solutions on an ongoing basis
* Monitor test results, identify issues, and work with the team to resolve
* Participate in all phases of the SDLC to ensure solutions fulfill the highest possible quality, performance, usability, and supportability criteria
* Assist in the development, integration, maintenance, and documentation of test automation tools and strategies that will add value to testing cycles
Minimum Requirements
* BA or BS in Computer Science or Engineering plus 6 years of related experience
* Experience with manual and automated testing of desktop, web, and mobile applications.
* Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience implementing test automation tools and automated testing suites
* Experience working with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum
* Previous experience bootstrapping QA on a new initiative
* Previous experience with ESRI and open-source GIS technologies
* Basic familiarity with DevOps concepts
* Desktop or web programming experience.
* Demonstrated aptitude in one or more programming languages such as C or Python
* Demonstrated aptitude with relational database systems such as SQL Server
* Demonstrated aptitude with AWS technologies such as EC2, Lamba, and S3
* Able to clearly explain ideas and thoughts to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Ability to see far-reaching consequences of proposed solutions
* Passion for quality, detail oriented, and know how to break software by finding bugs
* Interest in learning about GIS technologies
