Responsibilities

Bachelor's Degree in Business, a technical field or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 2 years related experience is required.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is desired at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for an advanced Configuration Management Associate to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports our nation’s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with the government to develop solutions that allow them to carry out submarine missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to deliver end-to-end solutions in mission systems integration, development, and operations support to fleets and the organization. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Implements and maintains an Engineering Change Notice System, including product improvements, repairs, and new product development
Coordinates the interaction between engineering, manufacturing, field operations, and program management to ensure appropriate changes are documented
Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system
Coordinates modification records for management control
Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor
Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities
Provides direction to lower level employees
Responsible for defining and the execution of control board hierarchy
Creates program Configuration/Data Management Plans and contributes to the generating of program plans
Contributes to Subcontractor Statement of Work
Supports fully all tasks associated with both configuration and data management
Coordinates with program office and engineering lead and review master schedules, read contract for data requirements, looks for 1423s, to determine data schedule for length of program
Generates and analyzes data from a variety of standard reports
Support proposals by reviewing customer requirements and document/defining best practices, identifying data items, close out costs, labor hours, etc. for proposals to determine scope and cost
Contributes to teams resolving program/company issues
Contributes to the generation of training material and provides training
Interface with Co-workers within the department
Frequent contact with employees and management outside of the department
Frequent external contact
