We’re hiring an Autonomous Driving – Engineering Team Manager, ADAS/AD Feature Test in Troy, MI. (relocation offered with the USA). In this role, you will lead a team of test and validation engineers working on Aptiv’s OEM ADAS and Autonomous Driving vehicle programs. The role covers a growing team of 20+ test engineers that execute the full test cycle from test procedure generation to data analysis, across Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Virtual Simulation and Vehicle testing. The successful Engineering Team Manager has a self-starting mentality, “thinks big” in terms of vision, enjoys working hands-on on a variety of projects simultaneously and understands how to achieve a high level of "customer" satisfaction from internal and external engineering teams.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead a growing team structured around the Vehicle System Testing and Validation of Aptiv’s North American OEM ADAS and Autonomous Driving vehicle programs.
Drive team engagement and continue developing a rewarding, respectful and exciting team environment.
Lead the hiring and interviewing process, ensuring the placement of only top talent on the Test team.
Drive continuous collaboration with Vehicle Systems, Algorithm and Program Management teams
Work closely with the Validation Tools Development team to influence the vision and execution of new testing methods and tools, such as simulators, data analytics or data loggers.
Need to Haves (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
3+ years’ experience testing Autonomous Driving vehicle systems, or 5+ years’ experience testing vehicle Durability/Reliability, Dynamics or Homologation
3+ years’ experience in an engineering management role over highly talented engineers
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)
Strong working-knowledge of Autonomous Driving technology
Prior experience in all of the following test disciplines: Vehicle Test, System Test, HIL Test, Simulation Test
Prior experience in Vehicle Data Analysis and Root-Cause Diagnosis of issues
Prior international work experience in Europe or Asia
Prior experience at an OEM in Vehicle Systems roles
